For all of us there are times when we need the support, understanding and guidance of others. Knowing there is someone you can trust, that will listen and try their best to help using all their knowledge and experience which can be a powerful and transformative experience.
As a qualified clinical psychologist with additional training in CBT, I draw on a range of effective and recommended therapies to help people achieve their goals. I am passionate about collaboratively guiding people on their journey to recovery and a meaningful life.
Throughout my career I have specialised in helping people with eating disorders, and have over 10 years experience in NHS eating disorder services. I have expertise in CBT for eating disorders (CBT-E), as well as training in other approaches including MANTRA, and Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT). I am also experienced in working with people to overcome other difficulties including low self-esteem, depression and anxiety disorders such as social anxiety, OCD, panic and generalised anxiety.
I understand how daunting it can be to think about letting go and living life free from an eating disorder, so I try to always match the pace of therapy to what feels manageable in that moment. I work alongside people every step of the way from gaining a shared understanding of their difficulties, to developing a plan and working together on making changes. I consider it a great privilege to join people in this process, and I value being part of helping someone (re)build a meaningful and fulfilling life.
As a chartered counselling psychologist, I believe that a collaborative person centred approach is the most important factor in a therapeutic relationship. We will share a space where you can be heard and understood by someone who has the skills and knowledge to help you navigate whatever difficulties have brought you to therapy.
As a qualified psychologist (HCPC and BPS registered) I will draw on a range of recommended and effective therapies to help you achieve your goals. I aim to help you make sense of your current difficulties and equip you with the tools to make lasting beneficial changes both for now and for the future.
I have over 12 years’ experience in the NHS and private practice and have worked with clients on a wide range of different issues. I am a member of EMDR UK and Europe. I also have expertise in Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT) and Dialectical Behaviour therapy (DBT).
I utilise evidence-based therapies to help people overcome a variety of difficulties which affect the mind and body. These include: addiction, anxiety disorders such as social and generalised anxiety as well as, eating disorders, depression, emotional dysregulation, self-harm, OCD, panic, PTSD, C-PTSD and childhood trauma.
